Freeze-Dried Feeding Guide
Freeze-Dried food delivers complete and balanced nutrition in its most concentrated form.
By gently removing the water, we preserve the natural goodness of a fresh, high-meat diet, without the need for freezing or refrigeration. Freeze-drying protects the nutritional quality, shape and colour of real food, while intensifying aroma and taste. The result is a nutrient-dense meal that’s easy to portion, simple to serve, and highly palatable for cats. Feline Natural Freeze-Dried is flexible and easy to use. It can be fed on its own as a complete and balanced meal, or added to your cat’s existing food to boost nutrition and flavour.
This guide will help you understand how much Freeze-Dried food to feed, how to serve correctly, and how to confidently transition your cat, whether fed on its own or as part of a mixed feeding approach.
How to feed
Our Freeze-dried range can be served on its own as a complete and balanced meal, or added to your cat’s existing food to boost nutrition and flavour.
Feline Natural Freeze-Dried Feasts can be served dry, or rehydrated by adding warm water.
For rehydration, we recommend mixing 1 cup of food and ¼ cup of water. Warm water should feel comfortable when tested on the back of your hand.
Sprinkle a small amount over your cat’s usual food to increase nutrient content and palatability.
Topping is a great way to introduce freeze-dried food to see if it is right for you and your cat.
Adult feeding guide
To feed as a complete and balanced meal, use a standard 240ml (8oz) cup and follow the feeding chart. These feeding amounts are intended as a daily guide. Individual needs will vary depending on individual needs and may vary by +/- 50%
For kittens, pregnant or nursing cats, feed 2–3 times the adult amount per day
A note on feeding
Every cat is different. Body condition is the best guide for what is right for your cat. We recommend regularly monitoring your cat’s weight and condition, and adjusting feeding amounts if you notice any significant change over time.

Transitioning your pet to our food
We recommend following a 7-10 day transition plan. Start by mixing a small amount into their current food, slowly increasing the amount over 10 days until they enjoy an entire bowl of K9 Feline Natural. Transitioning correctly over this time will give your pet (and their stomach) time to adjust to the high-meat, nutrient-dense content of our food.
